Ready to Take the Next Step?
Entry to the KTCollege BTEC Performing Arts Course is strictly by audition. We keep cohort sizes small (limited to 15 students) to guarantee every performer gets individualised coaching.
What will the audition day consist of?
Throughout the audition day, applicants will be assessed in all three disciplines.
The day will consist of a private singing audition performing 2 contrasting songs of your choice, a monologue to demonstrate your acting skills and a ballet and technical jazz class that will include a routine too.
Students will also be interviewed by the audition panel. This will be an opportunity for both parties to get to know each other and will give the applicant chance to ask any more questions.

FAQ
"Will my child be able to go to university with a BTEC?"
Yes. Over 95% of UK universities accept BTEC Level 3 qualifications. A Distinction grade in our BTEC holds equal weight to top A-Level grades for degree admissions.
"Are students narrowing their options by choosing a BTEC over A-Levels?"
Not at all—they are giving themselves the ultimate advantage.
A BTEC in Performing Arts doesn't limit options; it puts students in the best possible position to succeed in the arts while keeping every academic door wide open:
The Competitive Edge in the Arts: While standard A-Levels keep students sitting at desks, our BTEC provides 4 days a week of intensive, audition-ready studio training. They graduate with elite technique, professional showreels, and showcase experience—giving them a massive head start when auditioning for top conservatoires and West End careers.
Full Academic Backing: The qualification carries up to 168 UCAS points—the exact equivalent of 3 A*s at A-Level. It is accepted by over 95% of UK universities, ensuring they have a secure academic safety net for degree-level study in performing arts or alternative fields.
It isn't a compromise - it's high-level academic backing paired with the practical head start needed to actually make it in the industry.
"What does the course cost cover?"
Standard government funding only covers 16.25 hours a week - the bare minimum for classroom teaching. To give our students an honest, full-time timetable ahead of drama school, we double those hours, delivering a 33.25-hour week. The £1,837.50 +VAT annual Top-Up fee directly funds those extra 17 hours of intensive studio training, West End tutors, dance and vocal coaching, and live showcase productions - giving you elite, full-time preparation at a fraction of the cost.
